What is cloud computing infrastructure?
Cloud computing - it is a data processing model based on the use of services provided by the service provider (internal department or external organization). Cloud is a service offered by given software and the necessary infrastructure. This means eliminating the need to purchase a license or the need to install and administer the software.
The principle of the cloud works by transferring the entire burden of providing IT services (data, software or computing power) to the server and enabling permanent access through client computers. Thanks to this, their security does not depend on what will happen to the client computer, and the speed of processes results from the server's processing power. Just log in from any computer with access to the Internet to start using the benefits of cloud computing.
We can distinguish three types of clouds:
Private cloud - being part of an organization, albeit at the same time an autonomous service provider,
Public cloud - an external, generally available provider (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, etc.),
Hybrid cloud - a combination of the principles of functioning of private and public clouds. A specific part of the client's application and infrastructure works in the private cloud, and some are located in the public cloud space.
One of the oldest and simplest services in the cloud is Colocation. Colocation consists in renting a server room, access to electricity, air conditioning and Internet access. The benefiting company pays for other components - equipment, security (firewall), workload management, operating system, software, and applications. It is, therefore, a fee for lending space in the server room.
